Merhaba,

dün gece itibariyle Tallinn'e varmış bulunmaktayım. Hava sıcaklığı sıfırın altında, kar diz boyu, ama yine de Almanya'nın ıslak soğuğu ve Aachen'ın yağmuruyla karşılaştırınca cennet havası gibi gelmekte. Buranın soğuğunun, bende bıraktığı ilk intiba gayet iyi, insanın içine işlemeyen, güzel bir soğuk. 

Dün sabah saat 03:00'da başlayan yolculuğum, akşam 20:30'da Tallinn'e varmamla sona erdi. Aslında mesafeler o kadar çok değil, lakin çok aktarma olunca vakit kaybı çok oluyor (Aachen - Düsseldorf - Riga (Letonya)- Tallinn (Estonya). Uykusuz olmanın verdiği yorgunlukla, yolculuğun büyük bir kısmını uyuyarak geçirdim. Geri kalan kısımlarında da yanımdaki kitap çok faydalı oldu (The Tristan Betrayal - Robert Ludlum). 500 sayfanın üzerindeki kitabı bir yolculukta bitirdim, o kadar sürükleyici bir kitap 

16,5 saat yolculuğun üzerine, gece bir bölüm (sezon 5, bölüm 13) House MD izleyip, sonra da 12 saat uyudum. Bu günü de açıkçası biraz tembellikle geçiriyorum. Yarın ERASMUS öğrencileri için tanışma ve alıştırma toplantıları var, ona katılıp diğer erasmus öğrencileriyle tanışacağım. Cumartesi de onlarla beraber bir iki etkinlik ayarlanmış, onlara katılacağım. Pazartesi de enstitüde işe ve master tezime başlayacağım. Günler pek boş geçmeyecek gibi gözüküyor, bakalım, göreceğiz...

Hello hello,

I have arrived Estonia yesterday, welcomed by a snowy, albeit not too cold weather in the medieval town of Tallinn. I am positively surprised by the weather, as I have been expecting something freezing, and the view from the bus window was just lowering my expectations; nevertheless the reality struck warm. Blame it on my being completely oblivious to anything related to weather but I just can't understand , how it could feel warmer than Aachen, although the temperature is lower, and Tallinn is a coastal city,  hence I expect more humidity.  Maybe there is some truth in my friend's explanation: 'It is too cold there, that no humidity can exist'.

The trip to here was quite long but definitely not unpleasant. Because I was deprived of sleep, and to be honest not so sober, I did not miss any chance to sleep during the 16,5 hours long trip. And in the times when I was awake, I was racing through the pages of an incredibly riveting thriller,  The Tristan Betrayal - Robert Ludlum (posthumous). I have finished the 526 page giant during the train ride from Aachen to Dusseldorf and the bus ride from Riga to Tallinn.

After arriving Tallinn, and settling into the appartment, I watched the last episode of House MD (S5E13) and fell asleep. Tomorrow is the Orientation day for ERASMUS students, and then we'll go to play bowling with them. Saturday is also full of some events they organised, and then on Monday starts my master thesis and the work in the institute. Wish me luck!
